Case Studies WPP

Global creative transformation agency, WPP, approached us with a specific goal: to enhance the representation of Radical entry-level talent within their IT Transformation Team. Recognising the value of diverse perspectives and experiences, WPP sought to create a more inclusive workforce while simultaneously filling critical roles within their team.

The project had two objectives; to increase representation of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including the BAME community, women, and individuals with disabilities and to source talent with varied experiences, such as individuals with backgrounds in prison, care, and homelessness.

Over a 10-week period, we collaborated closely with WPP to identify suitable candidates for the targeted roles. Our expertise in sourcing Radical talent and understanding the unique challenges and strengths of this community played a vital role in achieving the desired outcomes.

Salaried at £28,000, the roles included Deskside Support, IT Project Analyst , IT Vendor Management Analyst , Change Analyst , Site Reliability Engineers (2 roles) , Maconomy Support Analyst , PMO Service Transition Analyst , Release Analyst , Support Analyst , Workday Training Coordinator and a Test Analyst.

By leveraging our extensive network and expertise in the Radical community, we successfully filled all 12 roles within the desired timeframe. This ensured that WPP's IT Transformation Team could continue their work seamlessly, avoiding any disruptions caused by prolonged vacancies.

Our recruitment efforts resulted in a significant increase in representation of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Two-thirds of the recruits came from the BAME community;
  • One-third identified as women;
  • One-third identified as individuals with disabilities.

This achievement aligned with WPP's ambition to foster a more inclusive workforce that better reflects society's diversity.

Our focus on sourcing candidates with diverse experiences, including those who have faced challenges such as prison, care, and homelessness, enriched the team's composition. These individuals brought unique perspectives and valuable insights to the IT Transformation Team, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.

Through our collaboration with WPP, we successfully filled critical roles in their IT Transformation Team while achieving significant advancements to their diversity and inclusion ambitions. Our approach to sourcing Radical talent and focusing on diverse experiences resulted in a more representative workforce that brings a range of perspectives to WPP's operations that weren't previously there.

12 months later, 11 of their 12 Radical recruits remain in post. This case study exemplifies the business case for recruiting Radically, showcasing one example of the type of brands that would sponsor the pilot and use the service as part of their commitments to diversity and inclusion and creating meaningful social impact.
